A community outdoor flea market located in the heart of Fairfax City, Virginia.
With over 70 vendors, there is something for everyone at the Fairfax Funky Flea!
The City of Fairfax is located 15 miles west of Washington, DC in the center of Northern Virginia. The flea meets on the last Saturday of the month, from April through November. We're staying at our 2024 location thanks to the generosity of our partner Ox Hill Companies and our sponsor: the Old Town Fairfax Business Association. Find us at 4031 University Drive (the large lot behind the United Bank), just one block from Main Street in Old Town Fairfax..
The Fairfax Funky Flea, LLC is privately owned and operated by Sharon Buttram and Kathy Hackshaw.

We're back in 2025, bigger and better than ever, thanks to our partnership with Ox Hill Companies! Visit the flea located in the Ox Hill Company's parking lot at 4031 University Drive (the large lot behind the United Bank), Our flea market is located just one block from Main Street in Historic Fairfax City, Virginia, close to many great restaurants and unique shops.
Appraisals
What is your stuff worth? Linda Cunningham Goldstein, a Sotheby's-trained appraiser and former National Trust Museum Director, will be appraising jewelry, furniture, prints, paintings, glass, china, pottery, silver, textiles and collectibles for the low, low fee of $15 per appraisal. Skip the Antiques Roadshow and visit the Fairfax Funky Flea Roadshow instead!
Good Eats!
We have great food in store for you this year.
In June we will host Red, Hot, and Blue Barbeque and Acai Bowls plus Gorda's Goodies Peruvian Alfajores, cupcakes and cookies by LBs Desserts, and Coffee by the Frothy Mug!
We are always looking for local food and drink vendors for our flea market. Please contact us if you want to part of the fun.
Parking
There are many public lots and street parking convenient to our new location. Please be courteous of our neighbors and park in authorized spaces only. Vendors, please park in our off-site vendor parking area to free up close-in parking for our customers. Vendor parking is located at 4084 University Drive.
Scam Alert
Unfortunately online scammers are advertising for vendors on Facebook and using our location and dates and asking for payment in advance. There is only one way to apply as a vendor and that is through our website. Please note that we collect payment on the day of the event for returning vendors, in advance for new vendors only, and then only through email requests from info@fairfaxfunkyflea.com or sharon@fairfaxfunkyflea.com.
Meet the Funky Fleas!
Sharon Buttram and Kathy Hackshaw Co-Owners
Sharon and Kathy are long-time residents of the City of Fairfax. They love going to flea markets, estate sales, tag sales; if you sold it, they probably bought it!
One day they looked around and realized they had TOO MUCH STUFF! Yes, there is such a thing. Their kids don't want it and they had NO MORE ROOM!
So they knew they had to curate their collections and simplify their lives. And the result is their very own flea market! The first flea was held in September, 2021 and the rest is history!
On a personal note, they have sons, daughters, dogs, cats, bees, vegetables, flowers, and ... supportive husbands!
